INTRODUCTION

We have two tasks this semester, the first one (Nothing Fancy) is not marked as part of our assessment and instead serves as an introduction into using cameras and microphones. The second task is our process short film called Heart Chocolate. if you love hot chocolate, you'll love this chocolate. 

THE BRIEF

ASSIGNMENT 1

Create a two-minute portrait of a place, a process, or a person with sound but no dialogue or monologue. We will present our ideas to the lecturers and work on a script form for these ideas. 

An online portfolio will evidence this process (hello!), using the role task sheet for guidance.

NOTE

• The films will not exceed two minutes in length.

• The film will include an appropriate sound design to communicate an intended emotional effect where each sound must be original and recorded by us.

• The completed 2-minute film and the accompanying portfolio will be the assessed part of this submission.

• You will present your active edits in-class to your lecturers for formative feedback (you can continue with your edits outside of the class sessions).
